The institutes of the School of Management Fribourg provide consultancy services to companies and organizations alongside our teaching and research activities and anchor HEG-FR as a solid partner for SMEs and non-profit organizations in the mandate and fundraising business.
The four institutes’ individual strategies include:
- Every institute is run entrepreneurially and is financially self-sufficient.
- Partners oversee applications or business plans and continuously monitor the projects they support.
- Collaboration with other organizations takes a clear-cut goal system.
- The institutes complement rather than compete with other businesses. They offer consulting services to enhance innovation as well as intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial performance.
- The institutes work in interdisciplinary ways and seek to foster a spirit of multiculturalism.

Institute Finance
The Finance Institute specializes in financial management. Our areas of interest cover corporate investment and finance, together with topics linked to crypto-currencies, Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), robo-advisers and, more generally, recent developments in fintech.
Food Ecosystem Institute
The aim of the Food Ecosystem Institute is to assist the entire Food Ecosystem to transition to the Industry 4.0 era and put in place sustainable development strategies.
Institute Social and public innovations
We are committed to supporting organizations in the fields of public management and sustainable development, through innovative approaches that respond to the challenges facing society today and tomorrow.
Institute Small and medium enterprises
Our training, research projects and advice are aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, from their start-up phase and throughout development, through innovation or internationalization projects, to takeover.
